Music technology - Music technology is technology involved with the musical arts, in particular the use of electronic devices and computer software to facilitate playback, recording, composition, storage and performance. This is the top level index page under the Music heading.

Multitrack recording - Multitrack recording ('multitracking' or just 'tracking' for short) is a method of sound recording that allows for the separate recording of multiple sound sources to create a cohesive whole. This is the most common method of recording popular music.

Sampling (music) - In music, sampling is the act of taking a portion of one sound recording, the sample, and reusing it as an instrument or element of a new recording. This is typically done with a sampler, which can be a piece of hardware or a computer program on a digital computer as in digital sampling.
