Tape delay (audio effect) - Tape delay, also often referred to as analog delay, is an audio effect whereby an echo can be introduced to an audio signal by mixing it with a delayed version of itself. Because the recording heads and playback heads are separated, the length of the delay can be adjusted by either varying the length of the magnetic tape loop ahead of time or (primarily) by varying the speed of the recording/playback.

Gapless playback - Gapless playback is the seamless playback of digital audio formats. It allows live music or consecutive tracks to be heard exactly as they are mastered, without gaps between tracks.

Digital Audio Tape - Digital Audio Tape (DAT or R-DAT) is a signal recording and playback medium developed by Sony and Philips in the mid 1980s. In appearance it is similar to a compact audio cassette, using 4 mm magnetic tape enclosed in a protective shell, but is roughly half the size at 73 mm Ă— 54 mm Ă— 10.

Loop bin duplicator - A loop bin duplicator is a specialized audio tape machine utilized in the duplication of pre-recorded audio cassettes. It uses a long loop of 1/2" wide tape loaded in a large bin located in the front of the machine, which is read by the duplicator at a very high speed, either 32 or 64 times (60 and 120 ips respectively) the normal speed of playback of an audio cassette.
